Step 2: Installing the Microsoft Compact Framework

If you have not installed the Microsoft Compact Framework on your Pocket PC yet, copy the downloaded Microsoft Compact Framework-CAB-File to any directory on your Pocket PC and execute it. Please check the Microsoft-Site for updates of the Microsoft Compact Framework, but please note that the dictionary is only tested with version 1.0 SP3!

Step 3: Installing the Smart Device Framework

If you have not installed the Smart Device Framework on your Pocket PC yet, copy the downloaded Smart-Device-Framework-CAB-File to any directory on your Pocket PC and execute it. Please check http://www.opennetcf.org for updates of the Smart Device Framework, but please note that the dictionary is only tested with version 1.2!

Step 4: Installing the Dictionary-Application

Copy the downloaded Dictionary-Application-CAB-File to any directory on your Pocket PC and execute it.

Step 5: Removing no necessary files

If there are still some CAB-files on your Pocket PC you can delete them because they are not needed anymore.

Problems

If you have problems with devices using a newer version of the .Net-Framework, there is a workaround to solve this problem: Please install .NET Configuration. With this application you can define an application-policy that you want to use the .NET Version 2.0.xxxx for the dictionary-application (e.g. for the path "\Speicherkarte\Programme\Dictionary\Dictionary.exe").

Here you can download dictionary-files in many languages. Please extract these files and then copy the .dat-files to the folder \Programs\Dictionary\ on your Pocket PC.
